How this calculation works
Each month starts with the opening balance and your deposit. The selected return is applied, then fixed costs are deducted. A share of positive net profit is paid out according to the reinvestment setting, followed by your monthly withdrawal.
The comparison uses identical inputs with zero profit reinvestment. It distributes positive profit but still retains losses. Total outcome includes both the ending balance and cash already taken out. The return-index drawdown removes deposit and withdrawal effects, while retaining trading losses and fixed costs.
Formula
Next balance = opening balance + deposit + trading result − paid costs − profit taken out − withdrawal.
Worked example
With $1,000, two months at 10%, no costs and full reinvestment, the balances are $1,100 and $1,210. With no profit reinvestment, $200 is paid out and $1,000 remains. These are arithmetic scenarios.
What to keep in mind
All returns are your assumptions, not forecasts or interest promised by an investment. Months may lose money. Costs and withdrawals are capped at available funds; shortfalls are shown separately. The model has no leverage, debt, tax or inflation. A sequence requires one return for each month.
