How this calculation works
Enter each purchase price and its USD budget. The budget includes the buy fee, paid in USD. The remaining amount purchases units at the entered price.
The average entry weights prices by purchased units. Break-even also recovers the buy fees and the selected percentage sell fee. The chart traces your average after each purchase.
Formula
Units = budget × (1 − buy fee) ÷ price. Break-even = total budgets ÷ [total units × (1 − sell fee)].
Worked example
With no fees, buying $100 at $100 and $100 at $50 gives 3 units. The weighted average is $200 ÷ 3 = $66.67, rather than the simple price average of $75.
What to keep in mind
This tool combines spot purchases of one asset. It does not model leverage, borrowed funds, partial sells, fees charged in coins, taxes or a live fill. Periodic dollar-cost averaging is modeled separately in the historical DCA tool.
