Crypto Profit & Loss Calculator: Spot and Futures
A green price move can still leave a red result. Enter the position, both trading fees and any funding to see what is left after closing the trade.
Your inputs
Editable hypothetical example. Prices and fees are assumptions, not live quotes or a forecast.
Position value excludes fees. With a fixed position value or quantity, leverage changes margin and return on margin; it does not multiply profit again.
Enter the total funding amount: positive for payments, negative for credits. It is not a funding rate.
Your result
- Net profit / loss
- 95.90 USDT
- Gross profit / loss
- 100.00 USDT
- Return on position (%)
- 9.59%
- Net return on initial margin (%)
- 47.95%
- Asset quantity
- 10
- Initial margin
- 200.00 USDT
- Margin + entry fee
- 201.00 USDT
- Break-even exit price
- 100.4004004 USDT
The horizontal axis shows evenly spaced hypothetical exit prices. Funding and costs stay fixed across scenarios.
This is closing-price arithmetic. It does not model liquidation, maintenance margin, or an exchange’s fee reserves. A leveraged position may close before the entered exit price.

How this calculation works
Enter position value before fees, initial margin before fees, or asset quantity. Quantity stays fixed from entry to exit. Long profit uses exit minus entry; short profit reverses that difference. Entry commission applies to entry value and exit commission to the value at exit.
Net profit subtracts both commissions, total funding paid and other costs. Negative funding is a credit. Break-even solves for a positive exit price at zero net profit, keeping the entered funding and other costs fixed. USD and USDT are separate quote units; the calculator does not convert between them.
Formula
q = position value ÷ entry; gross = direction × q × (exit − entry); net = gross − entry fee − exit fee − funding − other costs; initial margin = position value ÷ leverage
Worked example
A hypothetical long worth 1,000 USDT enters at 100 and exits at 110. Its 10 units earn 100 gross. A 0.1% entry fee costs 1, the 0.1% exit fee costs 1.10, and funding costs 2. Net profit is 95.90 USDT. At 5×, initial margin is 200 and net return on margin is 47.95%.
What to keep in mind
One complete close of a fixed-quantity spot purchase or linear futures position. Inverse contracts, partial closes, settlement resets, fee rebates, liquidation, tax and currency conversion are outside the model. Enter actual fill prices to reflect spread and slippage. Fee examples are editable assumptions, not exchange quotes.
