Crypto Slippage & Order-Book Impact Calculator
See how an order consumes quoted liquidity. Separate the spread from depth impact and the fee you enter.
Your inputs
Estimates walk the recorded book only. They exclude later price moves, hidden liquidity, latency and order rejection. No order is placed.
100 basis points (bps) = 1%. Only fully covered order sizes appear in the chart; sizes are spaced as comparison categories.

How this calculation works
The saved snapshots record up to 250 price levels per side from Coinbase Exchange spot books. A buy spends the entered USD amount across asks. A sell converts the entered USD size to units at the best bid, then consumes bids. The same fee percentage is charged on actual trade value.
The average price is trade value divided by consumed units. Depth impact compares it with the best quote on the same side. Midpoint cost also includes crossing the quoted spread. Refresh requests a public book without credentials; its receipt time is displayed. A refreshed book is not stored on our server.
Formula
Average fill = sum(price × units consumed) ÷ total units. Impact in basis points = adverse price difference ÷ reference price × 10,000.
Worked example
An illustrative ask book has 1 unit at $100 and 1 unit at $110. A $155 buy consumes 1.5 units, giving an average price of $103.33 and a 3.33% depth impact versus the $100 best ask, before fees.
What to keep in mind
This is a snapshot estimate, not measured slippage from a live order. Prices and liquidity can change before execution. Hidden liquidity, latency, rejection, exchange size rules and market replenishment are excluded. Insufficient recorded depth is flagged; no missing depth is extrapolated. The calculator never sends an order.
